While I would prefer a native ARM compile, I’ve been testing the development build that supports x64 emulation. It takes a while for Capture One to load but once it is running it works.

Given the limitations of the Surface Pro X, it isn’t nearly as fast as my desktop but it would be just fine for light editing on the road. Importing and rendering previews takes a bit of time but it is definitely usable. I’m on Windows 11 Dev build now, and I’m able to emulate other x64 apps just fine, but it seems like Capture One Pro installer is preventing me from installing it as I get this message: «This program can only be installed on versions of Windows designed for the following processor architectures: x64, Itanium».

Unfortunately, it seems when Capture One updated to support the M1 chip, the rewrite broke the X64 emulation on the Surface Pro.

I had to revert back to the prior release to get it to work again. It’s really slow and using up a lot of memory sadly I was trying to edit one photo and it’s somewhat unusable. Lightroom on the other hand is running very smoothly I really want to use C1 on my SPX.
