The quality of the pictures is not very sharp or as bight as I would like so I have to retouch the copies myself using a photo app which was available in the internet.

It is faster to use this technique for copying photographs I would like to keep and show from a flash drive on a TV or smartphone or tablet. If I want a better quality photograph I use my printer scanner and enhance the photos for better details and color. I have also used a handheld portable scanner but the quality is not sharp or detailed somewhat like the Innovative copier.

So, why is it it’s four stars? Well, it does NOT work on Windows It does not recognize the device and there doesn’t seem to be any way to get any drivers installed. However, I pulled up a virtual machine of Vista and it works perfectly. So, if you have Windows 10 but know how to do that or already have an older Windows. I think I saw that it works up to Windows 7 , then it’s a very solid film scanner for cheap. After reading the reviews I was sceptical, I’m running windows 7 and did have some problems getting the machine to connect, but after following the installation instructions it connected and it works as good as some slides I had scanned by Sam’s club years ago, you must be persistent to do the install.

For the money a 4 star rating! One person found this helpful. This simple scanner works great for the price. I couldn’t get it working with Windows 10, but it worked fine on my laptop with Windows 7. I mostly use it for scanning negatives because you get much better resolution than from glossy photos. I don’t know why people complain about the color and quality because it came out fantastic for me. Yes No.

Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. The bottom of the box has a date of manufacture. If you don’t have the box the serial is on the bottom of the scanner. Call or logon to the IT folks and they will tell you when it was made.

There is currently no software available to make the earlier units work on Win 8, this per the manufacturer. According to IT tech support these will work on Win 8. In my experience it is next to impossible to determine from web site advertising which units they are selling but beware, since the new operation systems are becoming more prevalent it looks like they are unloading the early versions at reduced prices.
